What must I do to be saved?
Let's look at how people became Christians in the New Testament.
They were told:
Hear and believe:
Romans 10.17: "...Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Repent:
Luke 13.3: "...Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."
Confess that Jesus is Lord:
Matthew 10.32,33: "Therefore whoever confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in Heaven."
Romans 10.9,10: "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation."
Be baptized:
Acts 2.38: "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 22.16: "And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
Be faithful:
Revelation 2.10: "Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
